Community Development includes the following: 

Building Department which enforces all codes, laws and ordinance relating to building, electric, plumbing and mechanical installations in the city through the permitting and inspection process.

Code Enforcement which enforces the zoning and general ordinances of the city in regard to blight.

Dangerous Buildings Commission which decides outcomes for buildings deemed dangerous by the building official.

Planning Department which enforces engineering, construction and design standards and regulates zone use throughout the city.

Zoning Board of Appeals which hears appeals and evaluates requests for interpretations and approves or denies dimensional and use variances.
