Continuing education is required and must be obtained prior to renewal of license. All education classes and requirement of hours must be approved by the State of Michigan.

A substation of the Sheriff’s Office has been established in City Hall at 805 St. Clair River Drive where deputies will work out of. One (1) deputy position is assigned 24 hours a day to road patrol exclusively within the City limits of Algonac, with a second deputy assigned for a six (6) hour period during the evening hours each day.
