Algonac has five parks and nearly 17 acres of open recreational space for community use: 

  • Smith Field is located on Smith and Michigan Streets with a baseball backstop and the Algonac Skate Park. 

  • Riverfront Park is located along the St. Clair River on the east side of M-29 with its half-mile board walk, gazebo, boat launch, Life Jacket Loaner Station, memorial      Adirondack chairs, painted bollards and blooming gardens. The gazebo can be reserved for private events. 

  • Scout Drive Tot Lot  is located on Scout Drive at Columbia Street. 

  • Columbia Street Playground  is located at the corner of Columbia and Market Streets near the water tower. 

  • Lions Field is located on Michigan Street near Dixie Boulevard and includes the Algonac Community Pool, basketball courts, large play structures, horseshoe pits, memorial gardens, a large gazebo and dog park. 

COMMUNITY SWIMMING POOL

The Algonac pool was originally built in 1957, and recently underwent a major rehabilitation thanks to grant funding, much of which was made possible by Senator Kevin Hertel. The pool is open daily (pending lifeguard availability and weather conditions):

  • Senior Swim Monday-Friday 10am to 11am

  • Water Aerobics Tuesday and Thursday 11am to 12pm

  • Open Swim Monday, Wednesday, Friday 11am to 8pm

  • Open Swim Tuesday and Thursday 12pm to 8pm

  • Open Swim Saturday & Sunday 12pm to 5pm

Daily admission is $4.00 per person (children under 3 are free) - payable at the pool

Special Passes are available for purchase at City Hall during normal business hours (Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5:30pm):

Discount Pass $60 for 20 visit punch card

Individual Annual $70 each

Family of 4 Annual Pass $150

Family of 5 Annual Pass $160

Family of 6-8 Annual Pass $175

Senior Pass $50

Water Aerobics $5 each day

Discount Aerobics $20 for 5 visits punch card

All parks are available for adoption through the Adopt -a -Park program.
