Board of Review

Board of Review (BOR)  members are appointed by the city council to receive and hear taxpayer appeals of the annual assessment roll. BOR members are local taxpayers, property owners and peers of the average citizen who appear before them. It is the Board of Review’s responsibility to make an independent judgment based on the facts and on law. The Board of Review is required by state law to meet in March of each year.

Appeals are heard annually in March. A  property owner who wishes to appeal a value should contact the city assessor for a BOR appointment - Assessor Wendy Loshaw at assessor@cityofalgonac.org.
