Meetings

City Council meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, unless otherwise noted.  Any change in the day, time or place of the meeting will be advertised in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

Algonac City Council members are elected to serve four-year terms on a rotating basis in even numbered years.  Immediately following the November election in which council members are elected, a special organizational meeting is held where council members take the oath of office, elect their Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, and adopt their organizational rules and ethics policy for the term.
